Jack Kirby’s Work Space
Absolutely my favorite and most inspiring image I’ve seen in a while.
I love how unpretentious and no-bullshit it is. It’s a plain desk, with a plain chair and a plain side chair, all of which are beat up from use and covered in ink. It faces a corner, one that’s covered in unorganized comics. It’s inspiring to see the desk that held the home of creation for countless characters was so practical. Nothing fancy about it. Just a place to sit down, shut up and do the work.
P.S. I’d like to credit this photo, but I don’t know where it comes from. If this is yours, let me know and I’d love to properly attribute you.

  • ‘30 Rock’ is still full of one-liners but that show has run its course. Id rather see those people move onto something entirely new.
  • The fact that ‘Community’ has made it this far is a Goddamn miracle, stop complaining already and start your internet campaign to get the ‘Community’ movie off the ground. It’s a great show but I rather see ‘Community’ end on their own terms and not try to rush a series.
  • ‘Parks & Rec’ has the ‘30 Rock’ dilemma, great characters but there’s not much further you can take those characters. Look where it started and look where it is now. It started out as a mediocre show and got amazing.

All of these shows are great shows but they will become stale and tired like ‘The Office’ if they are allowed to go on forever. Think of how much better ‘The Office’ would have been if it ended a season ago instead of meandering in limbo like it is now. As much as I love these shows I’m ready for something new and for those creative forces to apply themselves in other areas.

I was writing a post on the matter but, yet again, Dan has managed to say what I was thinking. It’s not like these are great shows in their prime and getting axed without final seasons. It’s not like these are even the highest rated show in the lineup (The Office is still king, for some reason).

Also, this is all still rumor at this point (except for 30 Rock) and I’ve never heard of “OpposingViews.com” in my life. The real news will probably come out Sunday with the upfronts.

The 1974 “The Wrestler” is something I’ve never seen but should have. This poster is excellence. I believe that shirtless cowboy on the right is Dusty Rhodes.

Fritz Lang’s eyes - for an Interview by William Friedkin (1974) | I think Fritz had beautiful eyes. At least until he moved to America. I might be the only one who thinks like this but you recognize in his face when exactly his heart broke and his film style started to change. It started after 1933. After he had to leave Germany. His beloved Germany.
