The last of a dying breed.
More famously known as Doink the Clown, Matt Borne is quite possibly the first wrestler I can remember watching on television. If not for this man, there may be no Drop Toehold.
If all you know of Matt Borne is an overly cartoonish version of Doink the Clown, you should know he started out as an evil heel, who would mess with the kids in the crowd along with fellow wrestlers. He returned to his evil roots after being fired from WWE and going to ECW.
While I am particularly fond of this evil character, his contributions to the world of wrestling will not be missed and we should all remember him for his talents. And great promos.
"Bwa-ha-ha-ha. Hey if it’s that what it’s all about: I just love to come around to the arena, to look around and look at all the little kids’ faces: They’re all smiling, they’re all jumping up and down and they’re all wondering what Doink is gonna do next. And I love to go up to them and play with them, give ‘em little balloons, give ‘em little tricks, do little tricks for them and then… And then I look at their little smiles… and I like to just take those smiles right away. A-ha-ha-ha.”
