The last of a dying breed.
2010 looks like it’s going to be a good year for Spiderman
I’m going to try liking Spider-Man this year. Don’t fail me now, Parker.
Bad Religion - Ten in 2010
Worth a look and a read. The Simpsons’ writers nailed a few things when predicting what life would be like 15 years in the future.
Filmography 2010: This year’s movies have legit transformed my idea of what is creatively possible. To celebrate that, I’ve remixed 270 of them into this giant ass video.
JUST WATCH IT.
Ohhhhhh look! I made a compilation of my favourite songs of 2010 which you can, of course, download or stream.

Those who’ve been reading my blog for years may recall that previous year’s almanacs were serious productions, where I made and mailed out pretty little CD’s. That’s not happening anymore (does anyone even use CD’s still?). I also used to make comprehensive liner notes too. That’s not happening this year because I’m now on vacation and attempting to spend as little time as possible in front of a monitor. But, with respect to my listening habits in 2010, I will say this:
- This year I listened to a lot of electronic or, at least, studio created music (as opposed to guitar/instrument driven music). I think this was, in large part, due to the fact purchased an APC 40 and took DAW production classes all summer.
- There were a lot of bands this year that put out songs where every vocal and instrument was run through an endless wall of reverb. Yeah, I didn’t like any of those songs. At all.
- I’m the only person on the Internet who didn’t lose their mind over Kanye’s album.
- Sleigh Bells’ Treats might be my favourite album of 2010, but I don’t think I’ve ever listened to it cover to cover since it’s completely exhausting (in a good way).
Anyways, download away and share!

Thank yous: Leigh created this year’s cover (possibly channelling TRON and classic Canadiana imagery). She’s basically the best.
Definitely get this. I’ve been getting Van Mega’s mixes for years, back when he mailed out actual CDs instead of online editions, and they’re something I look forward to each month and christmas season.
Seriously, give this a listen.
