The last of a dying breed.
Toys R Us
I remember being a kid going to the Toys R Us… From the late 80’s to the early 90’s… The Game Aisle was my home.
It was like a museum, displaying all the consoles on sale, new and old, giving a glimpse of an unknown future where these things are nearly forgotten. I loved it.
I would love going through the aisle, looking at the flags on the wall of games for each console. Wishing I could one day just run through it and grasp one of each ticket, head to the kiosk and go home to a personal library of games…
Unfortunately, one could only afford so much at a time… But I liked being there anyway, seeing the displays, the video information booths that would tell you about the latest games at the push of a button.
I wish I could find photos of older Toys R Us, the top examples are of a recent Toys R Us somewhere, I dunno where, but this one is awesome and classic as opposed to the crap I have around here, it’s so generic and imposing, like I’m looking at a glass jail… Ugh…
Well… Just wanted to share that little nostalgic memory
