Springfield, MO., May 9. — Infected with chain letter hysteria and stuck with a number of letters, two Springfield youths started what they chose to call a “drunk chain.”
Each drank a highball at a tavern, and passed on to a second tavern, each gathering a friend on the way and taking a second drink with him at the second tavern.
Then each of the four rounded up another friend and the eight had a drink at the third tavern.
At the fourth place of the procession the originators were hazily trying to figure how long it would take to get the whole city drunk. As the augmented crowd passed on to the fifth saloon the originators “passed out.”

while cleaning up at my grandparent’s house after my grandpa’s funeral last night, i found his digital camera and decided to upload the pictures to my computer. there were some awesome shots of all of us from last christmas, including this bad boy of grandpa and i enjoying a shot of tequila.
i miss you gramps.

The Rainbow Road Shot Challenge
The Drunken Moogle reader Mar and her husband submitted a combination of shots, meant to be taken together, called the Rainbow Road Shot challenge.
Each shot represents a monster in the Mario universe. As the monsters get stronger down the road, so does the shot! Participants start out with the Goomba shot and end with the flaming Bowser shot.
Goomba: Kahlua & cream
Koopa: Mojito - light rum, mint, and simple syrup, with a mint sugar rim
Boo: Vanilla infused vodka & non-dairy creamer
Thwamp: Blueberry vodka jello shot, with blue sugar rim
Dry Bones: Dirty Gin Martini
Bowser: Thai bird chili & cinnamon candy infused bacardi 151, with cinnamon sugar rim (Light the shot on fire, but BE CAREFUL! Lighting the shot on fire is optional; The Drunken Moogle isn’t responsible if you burn your face off.)Words can’t express how excited I am to try this!
